The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Friday cautioned Nigerians against the utilization of spoiled tomatoes to prevent tumor.

Such tomatoes are typically shoddy yet can be destructive.

Mrs Christiana Essenwa, a Deputy Director with the office, gave the notice in a meeting with NAN in Onitsha.

As indicated by her, spoiled tomatoes contain smaller scale living beings that instigate growth.

She clarified that "once tomatoes end up spoiled, it will have smaller scale living beings, for the most part parasites, and growths in spoiled tomatoes create mycotoxins which are savage and incite disease, and cause resistant lack in man and creatures.

"Mycotoxins are fatal, and can cause a wide range of harming in the body," the executive said.

She said that some exploration recommended that mycotoxins could likewise cause kidney harm.

As per her, a few people feel that spoiled tomatoes which are shoddy, can be expended in the wake of washing and warming.

She, in any case, focused on that the poisons couldn't be washed or murdered by warming "since mycotoxins are warm safe."
