President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday met with security chiefs in the country at the Presidential Villa, Abuja over the ceasefire agreement between the federal government and the Boko Haram sect.
After the meeting which lasted over two hours, the attorney general of the federation and minister of
justice, Mohammed Adoke (SAN) told journalists that the service chiefs briefed the president about the latest development on the negotiation to rescue the over 200 schoolgirls abducted in Chibok, Borno State.
The ceasefire agreement seems not to be yielding any result after it was announced as the insurgents continued their killing of innocent Nigerians and sacking of villages.
The AGF said negotiations are still in top gear between government and the sect on the ceasefire deal as well as the release of the Chibok girls, noting that all Nigerians should do is to keep their fingers crossed.
This is against speculations that the federal government may have given up on the release of the girls.

30 policemen still missing – IGP
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Suleiman Abba also said that about 30 of his men who were abducted in Gwoza, Borno State by the Boko Haram sect are still missing.
He expressed confidence, however, that the abducted police officers are still alive, adding that the officers found alive have since reunited with their families, but refused to recount their experiences probably out of trauma.
All the service chiefs attended the meeting. Also present at the meeting were the National Security Adviser (NSA), the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Director General of the State Security Services (SSS).
Others were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Minister of Interior.
