The boat was on its way from Lekki to Apapa when it burst into flames

One person has died and nine others have
been left injured after a boat exploded on
Friday, August 15 around Walter Carrington
Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The boat, which belonged to Aquitien Oil and
Gas Limited , was reportedly heading to Apapa
from Lekki .
The boat was said to be carrying 10 people out
of which one, identified as Emmanuel Onu ,
has been confirmed dead.
Some of the victims’ were yet to be found and
relatives of the supposed survivors have said
that they have not been informed of the
whereabouts of their loved ones.
The boat was said to have caught on fire while
the operator was trying to refuel .
