Manchester United fans were unable to have
Angel Di Maria printed on their shirts yesterday
after the club’s superstore reportedly ran out of
the letter ‘R’.
The former Premier League champions are
poised to announce the arrival of the Argentina
international from Real Madrid for a British
record fee of £59.7m plus-add-ons and will earn
£200,000-a-week in wages.
However, if fans wanted to get the 26-year-old’s
name on the back of their United top yesterday,
they had to wait after the club put a sign
outside the store stating that there were no
more ‘R’s left in black print, according to the
Daily Mail.
Di Maria is expected to undergo a medical with
United today before completing the move.
However, He is expected to join up with his new
United teammates at training on Thursday and
the club hope to formalise his work permit and
registration by 12 noon Friday.
Angel Di Maria will be wearing the No.7 shirt at
Manchester United this season. The jersey
number which was worn by likes Eric Cantona
and Christiano Ronaldo during thier playing
times at the old Trafford.
